From our first set of dynamic speakers in 1938 to the industry standard TAD Reference One, every speaker we build is engineered to offer incredible design attributes and provide nothing less than astonishing sound quality. Much of our tremendous success is attributed to our exclusive Technical Audio Devices (TAD) technology. The very benchmark of sonic authenticity and no-compromise engineering, TAD technology not only sets us apart but also functions as the standard against which all other speakers are judged. And when it comes to attaining sublime sound reproduction, the highest standards are not just goals but necessities for which anything less is unacceptable.

 

A rare element of the periodic table, beryllium holds the key to both the midrange cone and tweeter dome in our Reference One speakers. The lightest and most rigid metal applicable to this process, beryllium offers both strength and dampening characteristics that are unrivaled by any other diaphragm materials. And as TAD™ is the only speaker to employ vapor deposition, the pure crystalline structure of the TAD beryllium (when created under a vacuum) is audibly superior to all other drivers.
